I agree, and something that is only very minimal in Joomla and could do with some enhancement.

It may also be that I've just not had a site configured to utilize it properly. But features like the system telling you when you log in that you have content to approve or tasks to action would improve things in addition to thoughts in that post.

I agree that lack of a publishing workflow is a major issue for end-user site maintainers that receive content from front-end authors. Paradigms we know and use for bug tracking and pull requests would apply to all forms of submitted content management.
