Hi there, I just installed 3.0a2 and was able to quickly modify my custom admin component to make it 3.0 compatible - github.com/MrRoyce/All-Icons/downloads - currently for 2.5 only.

This component is a 'quick icon' type component that can be used to add as many modules as necessary to the control panel. On our production system we have 5 different modules that contain from 3 - 30 icons! In 3.0 without collapsible modules, this would make the visual of the control panel very busy.

I'm not sure if the intent is to not have collapsible panels, but I think that as folks customize their CP's the collapsible feature will be very important.
