TOPIC: Language Override Manager

Language Override Manager 9 months, 2 weeks ago #931

Hi,

great work is going on here! I just tested the template8 branch.

Since I have coded the language override manager for Joomla! 2.5 I would like to offer to adapt it for the new output because it seems to be messed up a bit at the moment.
Is there something special I have to keep in mind or is already someone doing this with more knowledge about Bootstrap?

One other thing I have noticed is that e.g. in com_content the sorting possibility by clicking on the column headers has been replaced by select boxes like it was in Joomla! 1.0.
Is there a specific reason for that? In my humble opinion clicking on the column headers was much more intuitive.

Agree.

The reason we're moving to the select box for sorting is to allow for sorting of metrics that aren't present in columns. In the past, Joomla had information overload in it's admin tables and in 3.0 we're trying to intelligently combing and consolidate. For instance in the 3.0 Article Manager we've moved the category under the article title and removed some less important columns like Hits. Having the sort select box lets you filter by any of these metrics, and possibly some that have never been available

Can't it both work?
Have the table column titles clickable AND have the select?

I guess that wouldn't hurt... Dangit now we gotta go update those admin list views again
