TOPIC: Joomla 3.0 Module Menu Assignment

Joomla 3.0 Module Menu Assignment 11 months, 1 week ago #813

Recently saw the latest concept for assigning modules. I think it makes the display of the information more simplistic but the move away from the select box of Joomla 1.5 was a mistake in my opinion. It's harder to check off each individual box (or type in and select individually like this new concept) than it was to just hold down control or shift, and then drag and select like it was in 1.5. My personal opinion would be to go back to that approach, add a few new pieces of information to it and it would work fine. It was simple to use so Im not sure why Joomla moved away from that approach and went to checkboxes in the first place.

I would add one thing, as I run some v big sites, with lots of menus and modules: It would be great if you could assign a module to a whole menu. So when entries are added to that menu, the module will auto-display on those too.

Perhaps also, in response to the original post, there could just be a toggle to (de-)select every entry in a single menu. Lot less clicking.

Thanks for reading
