This is the continuation of a discussion started in the Bootstrap thread -- see
here for the original message.
I've worked on some guidelines on how we can work together effectively. Again, just suggestions to start a discussion ... please jump in.
Given
- each of us is putting in a varying amount of capacity, either alone or as a group
- we want to make sure that every contribution is both valuable (= results in a better joomla) and valued
- we each bring to the table different skills in different 'quantities'
- our effort is geographically and temporally spread out
we'll need a decent yet lightweight coordination approach. Also, we need the leadership to paint the big picture -- I'm not clear on whether that would be Kyle, a specific working group, the entire PLT, so suggestions are very welcome -- and assume some form of project management role.
We'll also probably move to a more formal 'registration' of people, skills and capacity in the near future.
Questions :
- in what timeframe are we looking at this effort ?
- is this a side branch of 3.0 we'ld be working on, and where do we start ?
- is there a basic guideline -- based on Kyle's work -- or other ?
- do we need a kickoff meeting (virtual or IRL) ?
